My wife is sick and I have definitely been better, so I imposed on our teenage son to make us chicken soup from scratch. He was skeptical, but dutifully complied. He stewed a chicken with vegetables in the crock pot overnight and deboned it during lunch. I had him put all that nice meat in the fridge while he cooked vegetables for the broth.
