I wanted to share a new song, called Unexpected Surprises. I wrote it at the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge, across the street from the hospital. Earlier that day, we had done stem cell harvesting, and were expecting to to take three to four days. Instead, it took 3-4 hours, and the doctors were able to harvest 6.2 million stem cells, well over double the 2.5 million goal! Which meant we got to go home on Tuesday instead of Friday. God is good!
Unexpected Surprises-- oh God you're so good You always know just what we need, Little things to make us feel good.
Small gifts-- a song on the radio-- bring sweet memories. New red shoes, and a box full of butterflies-- small joys such things bring.
Unexpected surprises-- coffee with a friend-- Good news from an unexpected source. God's love never ends.
Small gifts-- a message in the inbox, a gorgeous sunset, a warm bed on a cold and rainy night Your goodness never ends.
Open my eyes to see the wondrous things you've done. Open my mouth to tell of your joys! Open my hands to give unselfishly in love Open my heart to love the way You love.
Unexpected surprises-- oh God You're so good. You always know just what we need-- little things to make us feel good.
Thank you God. Thank you God.
Finding hope & joy in “unexpected surprises.” How awesome is that!
While your guitar gently weeps Pete, so did I. That was crushing and beautiful my friend. You are too generous.
