God took me on a significant detour last year... But it wasn't just a detour; it was a side quest. A holy mission.

That road ended sharply and was blocked off for my safety. The sign had a big arrow. It was a detour sign.

"Why am I here?" It's a loaded question. We want to know our purpose, but we are really asking why we are in this situation.

The really astounding part for David, is that God would make these precious promises, as he put it "EVEN THOUGH YOU KNOW ME JUST AS I AM."

So my question for you is, what's your status? 'Going it alone with your anchor dragging, or are you in safe harbor with other believers?

Sometimes God requires hard things. He gives us missions or puts us in circumstances that require us to be resolute.

Celebrate God's little surprises!

This morning God showed me something I didn't like. Sigh. A scene of tranquility. Of Resting. He showed me a view from my recliner in front of a window. Outside the window was a winter scene, of a snow covered landscape, deep in drifts. There was also a tree, beautifully iced with big clumps of snow. Bright sunlight, very Currier and Ives. Then God showed me a different bowl. This was soup. Hands were tearing open a foil packet and emptying the contents into the bowl, but all I could see was green leafy slimy stuff floating on top. It looked like seaweed, or more likely spinach. I love raw spinach salad. But cooked spinach? Disgusting! God, what does this mean? I have been making major changes to my blog today, changing the name, buying a domain, and optimizing (hopefully) Google search.
