God took me on a significant detour last year... But it wasn't just a detour; it was a side quest. A holy mission.

Last night, God showed me a whirlpool -- a maelstrom -- with a golden escalator coming up out of it.

Maybe you are on hold and stuck in the middle of nowhere... You just don't understand. Like me, you're asking God why.

Suddenly your progress was arrested, you moved BACKWARDS, and now you are off to the side and waiting for something to happen...

God was telling Baruch that his pain was carefully measured. More struggles were in his future, but there was a limit.

That road ended sharply and was blocked off for my safety. The sign had a big arrow. It was a detour sign.

God was telling me that he was cooking something up for me-- something good!-- but it wasn't done cooking yet.

The big picture is that my mission is the same as that of every other believer- to Love God, and to make him known.

Make peace with God, and with each other. Hug the ones you love, and leave no unfinished conversations...

"Why am I here?" It's a loaded question. We want to know our purpose, but we are really asking why we are in this situation.

Be on the lookout for fellow smokers-- those plucked from the fire and still smelling of smoke. Offer a helping hand. Or a hug. Or whatever.

Sometimes God has us on a mission... and it's invigorating! But there are other times when God calls us away... to a Holy Pause.

Sometimes you do the right thing or are minding your own business even, and you still get asked to leave.

We didn't get to see all the family and friends that I wanted to see, but we will try again the next trip.

Many of us are walking in treacherous places right now.

Our tendency is to question God's orders; or sometimes, whether we got them from God in the first place!

God doesn't tell us everything. He doesn't show us all the pieces, because He wants us to trust.
